Athletic Club lost by 1-2 against Atlético Madrid and, in spite of playing an awesome match it won’t be in the Copa. The goal by Aduriz allowed us to dream about qualifying with a first half of rojiblanca superiority after a start full of suspense and a one-on-one won by Iago Herrerín against Diego Costa. In the second half, in the final stretch of the match and with the team to the fore Raul Garcia and Diego Costa scored the goals for the visitors.

In the final minutes of the first half Courtois prevented Athletic from turning the classifying round around. Nevertheless, on restart of play the colchoneros began strong and the goal, scored after a non-indicated free kick on San Jose, weighed as heavy as a slab since Atlético Madrid placed themselves further back on the field.

And now all that’s left is the Liga, where luckily the team is stepping firmly, and on Sunday arrives a new opportunity to demonstrate so against Real Madrid, currently third on the table. Let’s hope that the great work done today, both on the part of the team as well as the fans, this Sunday will bring continuity and, if possible, compensation.
