Athletic Club has defeated Sevilla FC 3-1 in the last match of Liga season 2015/2016. Aduriz (2) and Raúl García have been our scorers, while the goal for the visiting team has been scored by Juan Muñoz. With this result Athletic has finished the league in the 5th position, so we will play the UEFA Europa League next season from the Group Stages. A big achievement, because it’s the third consecutive season that we get through European competition, since we have been in Europe five times in the last six campaigns.

A very emotional closing match. On the one hand, getting back the fifth position and being able to win the rival; on the other hand, the pleasure of bidding farewell to a big player and captain, Carlos Gurpegi.

Fifteen seasons in Athletic Club, with episodes like the sanction or some injuries, although he could have won a trophy after 31 years later.
