Precious point at Sánchez-Pizjuán
Athletic Club brought out its best in a very demanding clash

Two points in two different visits; one to Real Madrid and the last one to Seville speaks well about the competitiveness of Athletic Club, which continues in the fight for European places. It was blood, sweat and tears to hold on to the draw after having gone ahead on the scoreboard with a goal by Capa. The team from Bilbao held on like a treasure to the tables, brought about by a clearance at Núñez’s own goal in an extreme situation. It is time to become strong in San Mames after facing the Cup in Las Llanas.
The lions showed two different faces. In the first half, with their three-center system and a very brave forward pressure, they left Lopetegui’s team speechless, a team that proved to be dangerous only in the internees of Ocampos, a well-known ogre of Olympique Marseille. Almost a quarter of an hour later, Ander Capa scored his second goal of the season and pursued 1-0. It was on a diagonal foul by Iñigo Martínez who tried to comb out Raúl with a nudge. The player from Portugalete caught the ball loose and sent it into the net with his instep.
Leaving aside a corner from a poisonous Banega and a good start by Simon to pass, Athletic had no problems. But Lopetegui gave Sevilla a shake with the changes after the break and Athletic was in tow. Yeray took out in the line an early occasion of Munir and on the hour of game, after it was annulled as it happened in the Bernabéu a goal by Kodro. A minute after De Jong sent a ball to the post, a new entry by Ocampos and cross was deflected into the net by Nuñez.
The lions had the 1-2 in a ball on the edge of the area that Dani Garcia sent a little bit up. They also had to face the pressure of the Sanchez-Pizjuán, but without great opportunities and with Villalibre fighting everything up. The three final whistles of a good referee, Gonzalez Gonzalez, finished the match in a perfect way. Sevilla is a very physical rival and Athletic shot with a great honour.
