West Ham United - Athletic Club

Athletic Club remain unbeaten in pre-season, although they missed a two-goal cushion against West Ham in a fateful minute when they lost the lead generated by Unai Lopez and Williams. The draw was fair after what was seen on the London Stadium turf. The Betway Cup was decided on penalties in favour of Athletic, who scored in boots of Aduriz, Beñat, Sancet and Yuri Berchiche.

The match started in the most favourable way for Athletic, with a goal from Unai Lopez at a corner, in a ball deflected into the net by Haller, impossible for goalkeeper Roberto. After a moment of scoring, the Gaizka Garitano’s team hit for the second time in a delicious collective play, loaded with touches, that Williams sent into the back of the net after a great assist by Muniain from the right.

However, West Ham have a lot of fantasy on their attacking front and equalised in just one minute. Lanzini, after Fornals’ bicycle kick, and Wilshere, after a brilliant move from Haller, put the tables on the scoreboard. Londoners began to dominate the game
