Salamanca CF - Bilbao Athletic

Bilbao Athletic drew one-all against Salamanca CF UDS in the 23^rd matchweek of the Second Division B Group II.

Iru had to make a good save to deflect the ball for a corner in the first chance the team from Salamanca created thanks to a chip from Gio; however, after the 10-minute mark, a direct free kick taken by Martín Galván turned into the first goal of the evening. Athletic’s response did not take too long to arrive: on 16 minutes, a low corner kick from Imanol was sent to Vencedor at the edge of the box, who controlled it and launched the ball into the top corner of the goal defended by Dani Sotres. A really splendid goal.  On 37 minutes, Imanol got a great scoring chance after Núñez had come through the right flank, but his right-footed shot went too high. Right before the break, a direct free kick, masterfully taken by Vencedor, was cleared for a corner by the hosts’ goalkeeper after having previously hit the woodwork.

During the second half there were no goals, but all the substitutions were used: Joseba Etxeberria brought in Víctor, Morcillo, and Guruzeta for Prados, Imanol, and Artola respectively.

Bilbao Athletic will play at Lezama next weekend, on Saturday February 8 at 6.00pm, against CD Tudelano in the 24^th matchweek of the competition.
