Athletic Club 2 – Sevilla FC 1
Athletic Club defeated Sevilla FC by 2-1 thus obtaining its second consecutive Liga victory, and three points that allow us to rise to fourteenth The rojiblanco’s goals were scored in the first half, the work of De Marcos and Susaeta, this last one in injury time.
In the second half, Negredo equalized with a penalty shot, shortly after the team was left in numerical inferiority due to Herrera’s send-off. The team withstood the rival’s attacks and achieved a well-deserved and hard-earned victory, more so considering that our team came from disputing a very tough match on Thursday, something that the Andalusians did not have to do.
In addition to the aforementioned Herrera, De Marcos will not be at Bernabeu on Saturday either, as he was booked with his fifth yellow card. Therefore, two forced modifications in the usual alignment of the last weeks.
Now, a week without matches, but with varied days of absence for Amorebieta, Susaeta, Muniain and Aurtenetxe due to their various international commitments.
After the match, at the San Mamés presidential box and at the hand of representatives from the International Supporters’ Club Association, the most consistent player of last season -both male and female- award ceremony took place: and the winners were Oscar De Marcos and Irene Paredes.
