Athletic Club defeated Seville FC by 3-1, with goals scored by Susaeta, Muniain and Herrera and Gameiro for the visitors. As occurred against Málaga, the beginning of each period marked the match. Susaeta scored early from a direct corner kick, from then on Athletic read the game perfectly.

In the second half, also soon after the beginning, Muniain scored from a pass by Iraola and the match was pretty much settled. Herrera, with a header, scored the third and Gameiro, for the visitors, cut the distance. A day on which the first San Mamés mosaic was making its debut, round numbers for Susaeta (300 matches) and Toquero (200), and with Iraola equalling the numbers of the mythical ‘Piru’ Gainza.

That makes 65 points; the worse that could happen is that Athletic Club finishes sixth in La Liga, and worse even the fifth yellow card that Muniain has and that will prevent him from playing Friday’s match in Vallecas; an appointment on which a victory would be the equivalent of sealing the so-longed fourth seat.
