Athletic Club has defeated KRC Genk 5-3 at San Mames. Aritz Aduriz has scored the five goals of our team, three of them by penalty, setting the scoring record in a single game in the UEL. He has also entered to the top ten scorers in the history of our club, being already the maximum continental scorer.

However, the most important thing is that with his goals he helped to keep alive the aspirations of European qualification and the team is leading the group tied at six points with the rival of this afternoon. Two games left for the end of the groups phase and the match against Sassuolo at San Mamés seems to be crucial to try to strengthen the classification.

In the other side, the KRC Genk has not given up at any time and the goals from Bailey, Ndidi and Susic have put them over and over again in the game, and the absolute tranquillity has not arrived on the scoreboard until the final seconds of the match, although the Athletic has made merits to win with an even wider margin.
