Real Sociedad - Athletic Club

Athletic Club defeated Real Sociedad 1-0 in the final of the II Euskal Herriko Txapela, played at the Stadium Gal in Irun. Iñaki Williams scored the only goal of the game in the early stages of the second half.

At the second attempt, the Txapela comes home, as this time the final has ended without any notable surprises and the victory has been well deserved.

Our team overcame the quality of their opponents and all the disadvantages inherent to any pre-season: heat, the state of the pitch, fatigue, changes and the consequent lack of rhythm in the match, etc.

For 70 minutes they were superior to their opponents and showed virtues that will surely help them in the league.

And with no time for rest, a plane takes the team to Germany where on Sunday 5 August we will play the Opel Cup in Mainz against the local team and AC Fiorentina.
