ADO Den Haag - Athletic Club

Athletic Club lost 3-2 against ADO Den Haag in the match played at De Lutte (Netherlands). Our goals were scored by Aduriz and Sabin Merino, and the rivals’ by Becker, Falkenburg and El Khayatik.

Despite the defeat, the red-and-white team were superior in almost all the phases of the match, but the duels of the preseason matches are like this: a lot of physical load during the work days and the previous hours before the matches, a lot of changes and tests. Thus, the superiority of our team before and after the goal was clear, but for the break the scoredboard showed 1-1 draw.

The hail and water storm of the first half closed the future of the encounter. The condition of the field was not the same. In addition, during the first five minutes, both the level of the referee (not in accordance with professional teams of two big European leagues) and the coordination mistakes has made an easy 3-1 for ADO.

The reaction has been good, although only Sabin Merino has been the only player adding a goal after Aduriz. Finally, and to give an end to this catastrophic day, the referee decided to finish the game in the minute 87.
