Athletic Club returns home with one point from its visit to Sevilla FC after the 1-1 draw. Susaeta scored in the 6th minute after the locals got ahead with a goal by Moreno in the 3rd. Susaeta himself had the opportunity to put our team ahead just before the break, but his penalty shot was deflected by Beto.

So, our unlucky penalty curse persists, since, without going too far back, it’s been several players that have failed to score a penalty shot these last few seasons: Orbaiz, Gabilondo, David Lopez, Aduriz, Iraola, Javi Martinez, Llorente, Beñat, Muniain, San Jose and, now, Susaeta.

The rojiblancos have been superior, but they haven’t been able to convert their control and determination into goals to gain the victory. After the distribution of points, we are still in fourth place on the table and now, between all of us, we must overcome the Copa qualifying round against Celta.
