Panathinaikos - Athletic Club

Athletic Club have defeated Panathinaikos FC 2-3 at Apostolos Nikolaidis in Athens. Aduriz (2) and De Marcos were the scorers, all in six bright minutes of the second half that served to overcome the 2-0 that was on the scoreboard after goals by Lod and Cabezas.

A match in which the result far exceeds the merits exhibited, but which reminds us, that the matches, and the qualifying rounds, are longer than they seem and so has happened today to the Greek squad.

After a first half of superiority with a 1-0 scoreline at half-time, Panathinaikos hit again just at the beginning of the second half. With the 2-0 the tie was very uphill, but has emerged the team of unshakeable morale and in six minutes a header of Aduriz after a cross by Muniain, a volley of De Marcos after the cross of the other side and a penalty converted by Aduriz consolidated the comeback, although the task must be finished next Thursday in San Mamés.
