Athletic Club and Racing Santander played out a cagey pre-season test with both sides stifling their opponent's attacks as the defenses reigned supreme in Muriedes, Cantabria.

Nico Serrano had the Lions' best chance of the game, narrowly missing the target with a chipped effort around the half-hour mark.

Santander put the game to bed in stoppage time as Suleiman Camara then leaped on a defensive effort in stoppage time to double their lead.

With time running out, Mikel Vesga responded almost immediately by scoring a late consolation goal with a bullet header from a corner. 

Athletic next pre-season clash will see them face Liverpool FC at Anfield on Monday evening.
