The Athletic Club has drawn (2-2) against Elche CF and remains at 20 points on the top of the table. Susaeta and Aduriz overtook the ‘ilicitana’ advantage (Lombán and Aaron) and the team was on the verge of winning after a much better second half, quite better than the first, and despite the fact they had two less days of rest than the rival.

Lombán scored in a strategy play and at the start of the second half Aaron scored the second after a rebound inside the area. Our team did not collapse and Susaeta after a spectacular finish from a pass by both Muniain and Aduriz, with a header from a corner taken by Beñat, established the end result.

With almost no rest, Sunday’s visit to Vicente Calderón will be complicated. Today, at least, Athletic Club continues its winning streak in San Mamés in spite of starting out below on the scoreboard for the fourth time.
