Real Valladolid - Athletic Club

Athletic Club remain in the European places after striker Gorka Guruzeta struck late to make sure the Lions drew 1-1 in Valladolid.

Ernesto Valverde's side were on the brink of defeat after Raúl Moro put the hosts ahead in the 78th minute, but the no.12 tucked away an impressive volley from an Iñigo Ruiz de Galarreta delivery to salvage a point for the Zurigorris.

Valverde changed half the starting line-up after Thursday's trip to Bulgaria. Julen Agirrezabala produced an excellent save to deny Luca Rosa early on, while Nico Williams sent an effort wide after being played through on goal by Alex Berenguer.

The other major of moment of the first half came when the referee gave Beñat Prados a straight red card but reversed his decision after checking with VAR.

The gaffer made three changes at half-time as the Lions attempted to take control off the match.

Guruzeta, who replaced Berenguer in the 74th minute after the winger picked up a knock, almost made an instant impact. The striker was inches away from slotting in an Oscar de Marcos cross. Moro's opener came a few minutes later.

Athleticzales had a tense wait but were rewarded for their faith as Guruzeta scored with a spectacular twisting volley seconds before the final whistle.

It's now time to rest and prepare to face Real Sociedad in the Basque Derby when we return from the international break. We're a third of the way through the campaign and Athletic are on track in sixth place.
