Spoils shared in Getafe

The Lions, who are still unbeaten away and remain in the European places, twice gave away the lead after goals from Iñaki Williams and Raúl García

Athletic Club drew 2-2 at Getafe. It was a match in which Los Leones twice took the lead. A chipped pass from Ander Herrera to Iñaki Williams saw Athletic go ahead, but Carles Aleñá drew the home side level.

In the second half Nico Williams tore Getafe's defence apart before cutting back for Raúl García, but this time Munir El Haddadi equalised.

Ernesto Valverde's side remain unbeaten away from Bilbao with two wins and two draws. Los Rojiblancos will now face a potentially even sterner test when they travel to the Camp Nou on Sunday.

Athletic could not have got off to a better start. In the second minute, Ander Herrera dink a beautiful ball over the Getafe defence for Iñaki Williams, the striker brougth it down well before slotting under David Soria's legs. The plentiful Athleticzales at the Coliseum went wild.

The game was going smoothly, with Athletic looking good for their lead when Getafe struck against the run of play. A high pass hit striker Enes Unal's shoulder and Aleñá struck a superb volley into the back of the net. Valverde's side almost re-established their advantage immediately, Iñaki Williams finding Soria's hands with a header from a Mikel Vesga cross.

After the break, Unai Simon tipped Unal's acrobatic bicycle-kick over the bar for a corner. Not long after, Valverde made a triple change which saw Yuri Berchiche makes his return from injury.

Raúl García had a huge impact. The 35-year-old forward finished well from close range after Nico Williams had terrorised his marker on the right flank

Half an hour remained and it was all about not making mistakes. The Lions missed a couple of chances. Borja Mayoral threatened and then Munir capitalised on an error in the 76th minute to make it 2-2.

Athletic kept going for the winner, Vesga and Iñaki Williams with decent opportunities, but it was not to be. The game finished 2-2.
