Athletic surge up the table
The Lions make it two away wins in a row thanks to a timely Vivian goal and an Iñaki Williams strike on the break

Athletic have shot up the LaLiga standings thanks to two successive away wins. Tonight's 0-2 victory over CD Leganes leaves Los Leones on 10 points and looking upwards.
Dani Vivian, following a smart corner move, and Iñaki Williams, finishing off a great pass from Andoni Gorosabel on the counter-attack, sealed a priceless win against a tough Leganés.
It was not an easy night, with Athletic also losing their best man at half-time through injury. Nico Williams had to be subbed off at half-time due to ankle injury caused by a Valentin Rosier foul.
Due to the congested fixture schedule, Ernesto Valverde made several changes to the starting line-up. Initially, the Lions struggled to test Juan Soriano. At the other end, however, Julen Agirrezabala was kept busy, forced into a great double save to deny Miguel de la Fuente and Sebastian Haller.
Rainy weather conditions affected everything and Athletic were not comfortable against Borja Jimenez's gritty side. De La Fuente even hit the post after his cross took a deflection off Unai Nuñez.
Valverde, in search of a breakthrough, made all five subs before the hour mark and his team finally found its feet.
A clever corner routine set Athletic on the path to victory. Ander Herrera's cross was flicked on by Gorka Guruzeta and Vivian, with the help of Jorge Sáenz, sent the ball into the back of the net. The international had earlier hit the crossbar with a bicycle kick that was wrongly ruled out for offside.
Athletic then released Gorosabel down the right flank and he set up Iñaki with a fantastic low delivery that the striker tucked away with an outstretched left foot for his first goal of the campaign.
Leganés did not give up, Haller had a goal disallowed for offside, and they hit the post again, this time through Diego García. Nuñez almost made it 0-3 in stoppage time, only to be denied by the woodwork.
Athletic are now flying high and are in good momentum thanks to a couple of great away days.
